Electric Health Records (EHR)(INT)

There are several impacts that the electronic health records have in hospitals that are both good and bad. Several of the bad impacts consist of security risks, data bottlenecks, staff training, individuals with poor skills, preparation of the installation. the EHRs also impact the hospital in a good is that it lets the staff’s ability to have a better diagnosis on their patient’s diseases an reduces and even prevent medical errors and also improves patients’ outcomes.

A manager can do several things to reduce these factors from affecting the hospital. One step a manager can take to minimize the issue of security is by installing an antivirus which also comes with intrusion detection and firewall software to make sure that hacking is almost impossible and making sure the system is always running properly. Keeping the patient’s information is very important and EHRs can always bring up the issues of how safe they can keep the information. what a manager can do is not using sensitive information where if the system ever fails, they can retrieve that information and risk the patient’s safety such as social securities or special identifiers.

Competitors The key impact that competition has with hospital is that helps the reduce the cost of care because otherwise without competition they cost would create high production cost which cause to transfer to patients via high health services and delivery costs. It can also be bad because with competitions can go to unwanted outcomes such as a reduction in quality, access to healthcare which based on the ability to pay rather than medical needs then resulting I inequity and inefficiency in the distribution of healthcare services.

Competition is a constant thing that managers need to face and being able to adjust to changing competitive strategies that improves the performance of a hospital. being on top of the hanging of healthcare costs can be one important strategy because if the cost of the hospital stays high than it can cause a smaller number of patients or transfers, and the best way is always being on top of the competition so it will not affect the hospital and reduce the numbers and profits it receives.

Nursing Skills (INT) The skills that the staff has can be a big impact in the hospital because they can be undertrained which can cause a lot of issues. Most hospitals tend to make sure that the staff is up to date so they do not affect the patient safety under their care. It is the hospitals responsibility to make sure the patients are well taking care of and the staff have the skills they need to ensure that safety.

A manager can do many steps in to reduce g the issues of the staff. They can set up training schedules that will give the staff the knowledge they are missing or are requiring. They also have programs or reoccurring knowledge that keeps staff up to date in the new and hanging policies that happen in healthcare frequently and that is one way to reduce medical error and reduce the cause in harming a patient.

Health information technology for economic and clinical health act (HITECH) (EXT)

The HITECH act was a very ambitious policy effort to increase the adoption of the EHRs and has very good data security components. Even though HIECH is not a common type of incentive program in that it does pay hospitals and doctors for infrastructure.

A manager can resolve this issue by making sure they follow the rules to how the hospital choose to get the EHRs. Keeping up with the latest technology or hospitals around them and being ale to keep information intact is important for the EHRs to run and under the Act it can make integrating the EHRs easier.

Local Competition ACA (EXT)

Reputation Signals generated by third parties (EXT)

Technology (INT)

Hospital Focus (INT) Hospital focus can be a big impact in how the hospital runs. Focus is an important factor because they are working with patients on

The way that a manager can reduce this factors among their staff is giving them support that they need when they cannot focus

constant basis and even get unexpected cases in matter of minute there’s factors can affect the staff on both emotional and physical problem.

or have something that bothers them. having an open communication with the staff can cause them to focus better.

Patient Satisfaction (INT)

Patient satisfactory is an important factor for a hospital because they are there to be for the patient. If a patient is not satisfied with the care, they are receiving they are most likely to not come back and the numbers can go down of patients because they won’t recommend the hospitals many hospitals that have bad review give people a bad aspect and won’t want to go there.

A manager can reduce this risk by making sure the staff takes care of the patients and are doing thing properly, so the patients are satisfied. Having good reviews can give the hospital good image and have patient coming in to get treated. Gong to see the patients personally and living the time also shows them that not only the staff cares about there well being but as well as the upper managements care which can change how a patient thinks and feel being the hospital.

Nursing staffing (INT) Nursing staffing can have a huge impact in healthcare because they are several things like the staff not being fully staffed and with competition it is hard to keep the best staff. Not only does the nursing staff important because they are the one that take car of the patients so keeping them up to date information and skills an be crucial to a good staff or a bad.

There are several things a manager can do to get the right staffing and make sure they have all the available staff possible. Reducing the risk of being understaff which can possibly cause a stress on both the staff and the patients when a hospital is understaff it causes so many problems on, he workplace it can be bad. Giving the proper training to the hires and hiring people that can keep the place staff and take care of the patients properly.
